In a recent project in West Chester, we creatively crafted an Island and range hood from 100-year-old barn beams. The unique island was constructed from 8″x8″ barn beams and finalized with a solid granite countertop. Similarly, the range hood was created from an 8″x8″ barn beam, cut in half to provide a perfect fit without overwhelming the space. Maintaining authenticity was a highlight in our project; hence, we left in all of the vintage nails, wire, and cut-outs in the beams to enhance the rustic feel of the 100-year-old beams.
